Persecuted Pakistani believer receives life-giving aid

October 2, 2023 by Abigail Hart in Persecuted believer in Pakistan

“My name is Daniel and I am a resident of Christian Town, Jaranwala. As a daily wage worker, I work hard to provide and meet the needs of my three children.

“On August 16, our lives took an unexpected turn. As news of the blasphemy allegations spread, my family was told that our lives were in danger. We were instructed to flee our homes.

“In a state of panic, we ran … we spent all night and the next day in prayer. When the mobs disbanded and the situation calmed, we returned home. We found our home destroyed and looted. It broke our hearts to see our home that way.

“After the riots, it became increasingly difficult to find employment. I was afraid to leave my children, even if just for a minute. We felt the weight of the instability and uncertainty around us. It was a really challenging time for my family.”

Partner with us today to reach believers like Daniel. Your gift can make a lasting impact in a persecuted believer’s life.

Though Daniel and many other Christian families were left destitute, the Lord met their immediate needs through the generosity of the Body of Christ.

“In the midst of these difficulties, individuals and organizations gave us hope through their compassion and kindness towards us. An aid team visited us, listened to our stories and empathized with us.

“They then acted quickly to provide us with the aid we needed. I was especially touched when I received this emergency package, which contains all the items necessary for us to restart our lives.”

GCR and our partners provided Daniel and 55 other families with income support, food kits, household items, kitchen essentials, school supplies and more.

Daniel says, “Words cannot adequately convey the depth of my gratitude towards those who have helped us. [You] not only offered tangible aid, but also renewed our faith in humanity. Our faith and trust in God has been strengthened.”

Let’s say a blessing over Daniel and his children as they work to rebuild their lives.

Heavenly Father, we lift up our dear brother in Christ, Daniel. Lord, we ask You to restore everything he and his children have lost to Muslim mob violence. We pray that You would provide him with an even better job and home than before, o God.

We thank You that his faith was not shaken, but strengthened during this turbulent time. Protect Daniel and his family and allow their restoration to be a testimony of Your goodness. Amen.
