Imagine trying to follow Jesus without a Bible in your hands, on your phone, or in your home. No verses to cling to in the dark. No Gospel of John to hand a friend who’s searching. No psalms to pray when fear closes in.
For nearly half the world’s population, that isn’t just difficult – it’s reality. Our Bible distribution partners estimate that almost one out of every two people on earth lacks access to Scripture in their own language.
That gap is especially clear in places where the Church is growing fast but resources lag behind.
In Chad, for example, one of the countries with the lowest literacy rates in the world, many believers come from oral cultures. They want to know God’s Word, but traditional printed Bibles don’t fully meet that need. Audio Bibles and SD cards become lifelines, allowing men, women, and children to hear Scripture even if they can’t read it.
Mexico shows a different side of the same hunger. The Christian presence is more established, yet many indigenous communities in remote areas still don’t have Bibles in their heart language. In regions marked by conflict, organized crime, or social hostility, believers lean on Scripture for courage, strength, and comfort.
From rural Chad to mountain villages in Mexico, your persecuted family is longing for the Word of God – and in many places, there simply aren’t enough Bibles to meet that longing.
This Giving Tuesday, you can help close that gap in a very practical way.
Global Christian Relief is working with local partners to place Scripture into the hands of persecuted believers through printed Bibles, audio Bibles, and SD cards. Together, we’re focusing on countries like Chad and Mexico – and also places such as India, Iraq, Iran, China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where believers urgently need access to Scripture.
Our Giving Tuesday goal is simple and bold: raise $400,000 to supply 80,000 Bibles to waiting Christians around the world.
A faithful partner has stepped forward with a $200,000 Challenge Grant to help make it happen. Every gift given for Bibles – up to the full $200,000 – will be matched, doubling your impact to place Scripture in the hands of twice as many believers.
Behind that goal are believers like Amina in Chad. At just 18 years old, she’s a single mother raising her son David in one of the most challenging places to be a Christian. In a country with very low literacy and more than 100 languages, a solar-powered audio Bible in Kenga – her heart language – has become her most treasured possession. She listens, sings, and shares it with neighbors who also can’t read. In her village, requests for audio Bibles far exceed supply.
This Giving Tuesday, you can help answer that longing. When you give to provide Bibles, you join what God is already doing in places like Chad, Mexico, and across some of the hardest regions on earth. You may never meet the believers who receive these Bibles, but the Word you help send will shape their worship, their courage, and their witness for years to come.
