May hadn't eaten a proper meal in weeks. Mothers reported their children going to sleep hungry. Families were sleeping under trees with no protection from the elements.

The journey to safety was harrowing. They had to walk for days through a war zone. They had to leave behind homes, possessions, and in many cases, loved ones.

When they arrived at displacement camps, they had nothing.

When our supporters heard about the crisis, they acted quickly to meet these families with what they needed most:

  • 150 food packages containing millet, rice, oil, salt, and sugar—enough to stabilize immediate hunger and provide consistent meals
  • 150 tarps and sleeping mats so families could construct basic shelters instead of sleeping on bare ground
  • 150 warm blankets to protect against cold nighttime temperatures

For many, this was the first time since fleeing that they could prepare an actual meal or rest.

One displaced mother expressed her gratitude simply: "Your hand has reached us. You are saving our lives and the lives of our children. Thank you for standing with us in this difficult time."

Local Churches are Serving with Incredible Courage

Local churches in Sudan distributed this aid under extremely dangerous conditions. Despite the risks, they served impartially – caring for both Christian and Muslim families with the same compassion.

Their witness is making an impact that extends beyond physical relief.

One pastor reported: "Not only Christians, but even the community has been blessed. This has created new respect for the church among Muslims; as a result, we're recording hundreds of Muslims leaving Islam and joining Christianity."

In the midst of violence and division, the church's faithful service is opening hearts and changing lives.

The Crisis Continues

While this emergency delivery brought critical relief, the difficult truth is, the situation in Darfur remains severe.

Families are still fleeing extremist violence. Food is still desperately scarce. Local churches continue caring for widows, unaccompanied children, wounded survivors, and displaced families—but resources are stretched dangerously thin.

Our brothers and sisters need critical support as the crisis in Sudan continues.

One of the best ways you can continue to help is to pray for your brothers and sisters in Sudan:

  • For protection of underground believers serving at great personal risk
  • For displaced families still fleeing violence, especially mothers and children
  • For peace and justice to come to Darfur
  • For more lives to be saved through the bold witness of local believers
