Free persecuted Christians in Pakistan: The blueprint for freedom

Free persecuted Christians in Pakistan: The blueprint for freedom

Before sunrise, in the dusty outskirts of Pakistan’s cities, thousands of families begin another day of relentless labor. For many, the brick kilns are not just a workplace—they are a prison. Trapped by debts that grow with each passing year, generations of Christians have known little else but the weight of clay and the sting of hopelessness.

But a new story is being written. Through what we call the “Blueprint for Freedom,” families are stepping out of bondage and into a future filled with hope.

Understanding the Chains

Bonded labor in Pakistan’s brick kilns is a modern form of slavery. Families—many of them Christian—take out small loans to cover emergencies, only to find themselves ensnared by high interest rates and unfair deductions. With more than 20,000 kilns across the country, it’s estimated that 3–4 million people work as brick makers, and a disproportionate number are Christians. Children as young as eight join their parents in the fields, their dreams dimmed by the reality of generational debt.

The impact is both practical and spiritual. Families lose their freedom, dignity, and the ability to hope for something better. Faith is often their only anchor.

The Blueprint for Freedom: A Three-Step Journey

But that’s where you can help. Through your partnership, Global Christian Relief aims to free 100 families this year through the following three-step plan.

Step 1: Freedom and Debt Relief

The journey begins with paying off a family’s debt in full, releasing them from the legal and economic bondage of the kiln. Our local partners carefully vet each case and negotiate with kiln owners to ensure the family’s safety. The moment of freedom is profound—many families say they never imagined this day would come.

Step 2: Income Generation Projects

Freedom alone isn’t enough. Without a way to earn a living, families risk falling back into debt. That’s why each freed family receives a tailored income-generating project—like a donkey cart for transporting goods, a motorized loader, or a sewing machine. These tools are matched to the family’s skills and context, enabling them to build a sustainable business and provide for their children.

Step 3: Financial Training and Support

Lasting change requires new skills. Each family participates in financial literacy classes, learning how to budget, save, and run their new business. This training empowers them to steward their resources wisely and break the cycle of poverty for good.

Freedom is possible. The story isn’t finished.

How You Can Be Part of the Story

  • Give: Your gift can pay off a family’s debt, provide business tools, or fund financial training. Every dollar helps break the cycle.
  • Share: Tell this story in your church or small group. Advocate for your persecuted family in Pakistan.
