Help at the Border: Iranian Christian Refugees Need a Lifeline

At A Glance

As conflict and instability spread across Iran, hardline elements are blaming Christian converts for the crisis – and persecuting them.

  • As Christian families flee the country, the underground church’s fragile, trust-based networks break apart – and they arrive with nobody waiting for them.
  • To meet this urgent need, GCR is working through trusted partners on the ground to meet refugees at the border.
  • We cannot let our brothers and sisters face this crisis alone. Please pray for Iran. And we invite you to act by giving today to help these believers begin rebuilding their lives.

Imagine jolting awake in the middle of the night.

You grab your children. You stuff whatever you can carry into one bag.

Then you go.

You leave your home, your neighborhood, and your livelihood behind. You have no money, no documents, and no real plan. You are leaving because staying has become too dangerous.

For a growing number of Iranian Christians, this is not a hypothetical.

As conflict and instability spread across Iran, hardline elements are blaming Christian converts for the crisis. Believers are being watched more closely. Underground house churches are being exposed.

Arrests are rising. Leaders are disappearing. And more families are making the agonizing choice to cross the border into a neighboring country.

But when they leave, the underground church’s fragile, trust-based networks break apart. They arrive with nobody waiting for them.

Within days, many single women and families with young children face the threat of homelessness. Some fear forced deportation back to Iran.

They need a lifeline. They need the global Church.

Help That Meets Them in the First Hours

To meet this urgent need, Global Christian Relief is working through trusted partners on the ground. Trained volunteers are being deployed to meet arriving refugees at the border.

As GCR CEO Brian Orme recently said:

“This isn't an abstract help. It's immediate survival. Through our partners, we are meeting them at the border with food and basic supplies. We're placing families into safe shelter and covering rent, meals, and care in the first critical months.”

We want to help 430 Iranian Christian refugees with immediate relief aid, including food, winter jackets, SIM cards, and Farsi New Testaments, to help stabilize them in the first critical hours after arrival.

Through our partners, we also are funding emergency shelter and trauma care for teenagers and adults who have lost everything.

We cannot let our brothers and sisters face this crisis alone.

First, please pray for Iran. Pray that God will shield these families on the road, steady their hearts, and give them endurance for the days ahead.

Second, we invite you to act. By giving today, you can help provide immediate aid, safe housing, and trauma care as these believers begin rebuilding.

An urgent crisis in Iran Stand with Iranian Christians fleeing conflict

The escalating conflict in Iran has forced many of our Christian brothers and sisters to flee their homes—often arriving at the border with no money, housing, or documents. Step in today as the hands and feet of Christ to provide emergency relief packs, safe housing, and trauma care when they need it most.
