Sustain Christians under attack for their faith

“Every day we have four or five attacks on churches and pastors, and every Sunday it doubles to roughly ten—this we have never seen before,” says Rajiv*, a persecuted church leader in India. As Hindu nationalism swells under the leadership of India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, your support is critical.

India is home to 1.4 billion unreached people

Countless Hindus in South Asia have never heard the gospel. When our sister in Christ, Suman, converted to Christianity, she paid a steep price. Her very own Hindu relatives murdered her sister, Bindu, in retaliation. Suman is now displaced and she fears continued violence. Your gift today can help a believer just like Suman survive with emergency food, shelter, persecution training and more.

Your gift can sustain displaced families and Christian widows with emergency food relief.

What your support means to Suman, a persecuted believer in India

  • Spiritual encouragement through God’s Word
  • Sustenance through emergency food relief
  • The comfort and warmth of safe shelter
  • Healing during persecution training seminars
  • The ministry of presence—so she’s never alone

When faith becomes a crime

Suman and her brother, Bima, accepted Christ as their Savior after attending church and experiencing a miraculous healing. Former Hindus in India, they encountered immediate threats of violence from their angry Hindu relatives after their conversion. One day, Suman’s Hindu uncle and cousins gathered weapons and violently attacked the family in a field—killing the siblings’ beloved sister: a believer named Bindu. The siblings were then displaced from their village by continued threats from their furious family. Today, they trust in God for their provision and remember the legacy their Christian sister left behind. “When she shared the Word of God with others, so many people came to Christ through her life,” says Bima.

Audio Bibles are desperately needed in India

24% of adults in India are illiterate. With a population of 1.4 billion, this means 336 million people cannot read the written Word of God. Your gift today can supply believers and new converts with their very own handheld, solar-powered audio Bible. Give the audible Word to Christians in need, and help them stand firm in their faith amid threats, violence and discrimination. The audio Bibles don’t require batteries or electricity, which is perfect for India’s remote villages and rugged infrastructure. Additionally, it comes pre-loaded with the Word in a variety of local Indian languages and dialects.

Hindu nationalism is threatening the existence of christianity in India

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Hindu nationalism has intensified in India and is spreading through South Asia. This dangerous belief—that the Hindu religion should shape a nation’s culture, politics and identity—sends a threatening message to believers: that they cannot be both Christian and Indian. Your gift to Global Christian Relief can help us advocate for our persecuted brothers and sisters and their fundamental right to freedom of religious expression in India and beyond.
