Christian persecution in nigeria Christians are being attacked for their faith

Nigeria is the deadliest country for Christians. In the predominantly Christian state of Plateau alone, Fulani militants have carried out multiple deadly attacks on vulnerable Christian villages in 2025.

Pastors' homes and churches are being targeted

Churches and pastors' homes are central hubs of refuge, resources, and social belonging in Christian communities. Militants tend to target these central areas and their leaders first, which has led to a humanitarian crisis. Your brothers and sisters need immediate relief and help restoring their communities.

give Tarfusa hope and healing Tarfusa lost her husband and pastor of their community

When their village was being attacked, Pastor Gideon fled with his family. Hours later, Gideon returned. The last words to his wife, Tarfusa, were "If I run away and am saved, I might go back and have no one to preach to."

He would rather die with his community.

Tragically, the beloved pastor was killed along with 7 others on the way back. Their home and church were also burned in the attack. Tarfusa now raises their children alone, without a home to return to.

But Tarfusa clings to the hope she finds in Christ.

Today, you can help Tarfusa and other survivors rebuild their homes, churches, and livelihoods after tragedy.

"It is important that the church is rebuilt—so that the people in this community can hear the Word of God. It will be a big encouragement for them."

— Tarfusa, recent widow in the attacks

Help these 3 Nigerian pastors support their congregations

Christians in Nigeria's middle belt have been under severe pressure from armed attacks. The violence has led to lives lost, mass displacement, and food supply shortages, creating an acute humanitarian crisis.

Reverend John

Reverend John

Reverend John says he loses 2-3 of his church members a week to attackers. Crops are regularly destroyed and gunshots ring out through the nights.

Reverend Stephen

Reverend Stephen

Most of Reverend Stephens church members have abandoned their farms and schools due to frequent attacks. Gunshot can be heard every night.

Pastor James

Pastor James

Pastor James buries 2-3 of his church members every week. Many of them are tin miners, killed on their way to or from the tin mines.

support Pastor Ezekiel Pastor ezekiel won't be silenced

As the Regional Church Council Chairman, Pastor Ezekiel oversees more than 300 villages across Plateau State. Even with a bounty on his head, he returned from India to speak for his people—and he refuses to leave.

He continues to advocate for and support his flock. He asks you to stand with him, as your brother in Christ.

"A good shepherd must give his life for his flock. A good shepherd must surrender all in all. I cannot just wait to be seeing my people being killed, destroyed, then keep quiet."

Help reverend Yakubu rebuild Reverend Yakubu lost church members and his home

On July 15, 2025, attackers came into Reverend Yakubu's home and killed 9 church members hiding there and lit his house on fire. Tragically, his community lost 27 of its members that day.

Though many in his community have fled, Reverend Yakubu is dedicated to standing ground and shepherding his flock.

"Even though this thing has happened, we still have faith in God. God is with us. That is why he saved us from that incident."

Help rebuild Reverend Yakubu's home, so it can once again stand as a source of strength and refuge for his congregation.
