Wellsprings of Hope: Magdalene’s First-Hand Account of Impact in Nigeria

Thanks to an outpouring of love and generosity, our supporters have made a first-hand difference for thousands of believers in Nigeria.

According to research from the 2025 Red List, Nigeria is the most dangerous country for Christians. Violence caused by extremist group Boko Haram has displaced 2.3 million Christian families there. After losing their homes, many of these families find respite in internally displaced person (IDP) camps.

Some of these camps face significant water challenges. As one resident, Magdalene, told us “We were really suffering seriously from lack of water. We would go far to a stream to fetch water.” And the water fetched is often unsafe, teeming with waterborne diseases.

But our supporters stepped in to help provide an industrial, solar-powered borehole with toilets at one of the camps and another in the works for a second camp. Thanks to these generous contributions, an estimated 4,150 displaced people in Nigeria will benefit from this new safe water source.

After figuring “we never had hope of getting clean water,” Magdalene experienced the blessing that trusting God provides.

“Now, I have hope that everything is possible in the future, in any situation. There is nothing God cannot do.”

This is just one of many projects in Nigeria that our contributors gave toward.

They also gave:

  • 5,000 believers an audio Bible in their own tribal language
  • 200 children of Christian widows, widowers, and pastors an education
  • 74 Christian families emergency food relief after a major attack in Miango State
  • 1,384 Nigerian Christians a place to worship after a church renovation
  • 5,221 residents medical care at mobile clinics across 11 IDP camps
  • And so much more!

Our supporters have provided immediate relief and lasting hope to Christians who've lost everything for their faith. You can see the light of Christ radiating anew from the faces of these children and thousands of our brothers and sisters in Nigeria.

It's amazing what God can accomplish through our Church family.
