In remote villages scattered across the mountains of Nepal, people are listening as the Word of God speaks.
Christian persecution in Nepal
The persecuted church in Nepal faces numerous obstacles. Evangelism is illegal. The constitution prohibits converting someone to a different religion. Christian boarding schools and orphanages have come under scrutiny from authorities and have been warned against hosting Bible studies or distributing Christian literature. As a result, Bibles are hard to come by.
Yet despite this persecution, Christianity is rapidly growing in Nepal. The persecuted church in Nepal has had to get creative in spreading the Gospel—and this is where GCR’s partners step in.
Hearing the Word of God through audio Bibles
One of the most remarkable ways we see God at work is through the distribution of audio Bibles. Along with SD cards filled with Scripture and videos that can be discreetly shared, these audio devices bring the Word of God to life in local languages.
We’re excited to share that most of the Bible players you helped fund have been produced and are now being thoughtfully distributed to local pastors and church leaders, who in turn discreetly share them within their communities.
Because many people in Nepal can’t read or don’t speak Nepali fluently, these resources are truly invaluable, especially to those who have never heard God’s Word before. Even in places without internet access, families and small groups can gather in secret to listen together, transforming their homes into places where faith is nurtured and Scripture becomes part of daily life. For some, this is the first time they’ve ever heard the Bible in their own language—and now, they can share it with others.

Pastor Mark*, a church planter and GCR partner in Nepal, described what these Bibles have meant to his congregation:
“We are deeply grateful for your generous donation of audio Bibles in our native language. Your gift is a tremendous blessing to our ministry and the communities we serve. These audio Bibles will not only enrich the spiritual lives of many but also make the Word of God accessible to those who may not be able to read.”
We hope you’ll join us in prayer for the persecuted church in Nepal. Thank you for being part of our mission to spread the Word of God to all nations.
