Persecuted Christian in Nigeria kidnapped by terrorists

September 5, 2023 by Abigail Hart in Persecuted Christians in Nigeria

Abigail’s sister, Lois Ibrahim, says, “There’s no doubt that our communities were attacked by terrorists and herdsmen.”

Lois sends the following message to the people that abducted her sister: “I’m pleading that they should release my sister from their captivity.

“If they, by chance, happen to come across your publication, I am begging them in the name of God, or whomever they serve, to release her, if not for anything but for the sake of her innocent children and her aged parents. I ask that they should free her if she’s still alive, but if they have killed her, they should let us know where she is buried.”

When Lois was asked what responsibility the Nigerian government should take, she answered, “The message I have for Kaduna State and the Nigerian government is that they should try—by all means—for peace to reign in Kaduna State and in Nigeria.

“They should do something about my missing sister and others that are missing, so that they can come back to reunite with their families. I know they have the power to do so.”

Although Lois and her family are distraught over the trauma that’s occurred, they find rest in God: “The word of God always comforts us all the time. We find solace in Christ Jesus when we read Psalm 23—an assurance of God’s love for us.”

Partner with us and help us reach persecuted Christians like Abigail around the world.

Psalm 23 says, “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake.

“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

“Surely Your goodness and love with follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Join us in praying for our dear sister Abigail and her family.

Father God, You know and see all. We ask You comfort Abigail. Bring her back home to her family and protect her from all harm. Heal any wounds inflicted on her. Be with her family and children. Encourage them through this trying time.

Convict the hearts of the kidnappers and turn their ways to You. Let them come to salvation and repent of their sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
