During the final week of 2023, we’ll be sharing heartwarming stories of impact—so you can discover how the Body of Christ’s prayers and generosity have blessed our persecuted family around the globe—including persecuted Christian widows who struggle to make ends meet.
Just in time for the holidays, Global Christian Relief and our partners on the ground in Lahore, Pakistan were able to bless 150 persecuted Christian widows with a special relief package!
Thanks to our generous supporters, these precious women of God enjoyed a gift designed to provide sustenance during the cold winter season. Each widow’s care package included flour, rice, noodles, chickpeas, grains, spices, salt, pickles, cooking oil, tea, sugar and children’s snacks. A celebratory Christmas event was held at a church in the area so they could collectively experience the joy, happiness and blessings of the Savior’s birth.
One participant, a persecuted Christian widow named Sona*, said, “My husband passed away a few years ago … I have 3 children and I have had a very hard time financially … I am so immensely thankful to those who sent help for us from GCR … for the provision of this package. It has lifted a heavy burden off of my shoulders and taken away my worry about providing food for my family on this special occasion … I am so grateful for the kindness and generosity.”
Please join us as we say a special prayer for these highly vulnerable, persecuted Christian widows.
Heavenly Father, this Christmas we want to thank You and praise You for sending us Your Son, our Emmanuel—meaning “God with us.” We know how dear these persecuted Christian widows are to You, for Psalm 68:5 declares that “a father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.”
We lift up our hurting sister, Sona, and the other attendees who received a care package. Please strengthen and sustain them. With the loss of their husbands, please send them comfort. Guide their steps and give them supernatural provision so they and their children do not go hungry. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Please note: Sona’s name has been changed to ensure her safety and anonymity.
